Freaking Out!

I am waiting for my girl to come home from Varsity Cheer tryouts. She was freaking out before she left and so now I am too! This will be her Senior year and she wants this soooo bad. Tons of talented girls coming in to the program and there are going to be some big cuts. Just hoping she lands where she wants to be and her Senior year is fabulous!

Fun with fabric "paper dolls"

My latest custom order for a really great customer and her sweet niece! Pretty simple but lots and lots of steps and cutting. I love the way it came out and how the fabrics all look together! The pattern for the dolls and dollhouse came from here. The fabrics are all ones I pulled from my scrap bins except for the Liberty of London Lawn that I purchased thru Etsy. I think we are going to add some extra clothes for the 2 dolls and I am going to make a boy doll to go along with the 2 girls.

The Book Club

Catching him reading everywhere these days! Love that! He's my first son that has caught the reading bug and I am so excited. Bailey reads everyday as do George and I but getting Max and Quinn to read for pleasure has not happened. I can only hope it will still catch on.

My little soldier

He has spent everyday this week so far in this  uniform. If ever a kid could entertain himself this one can and does! I would love to be inside his head of make believe! Love him!

A little bit of Paris Quilt

Trying to layout my first real quilt. I have been collecting french themed fabric for awhile to make Bailey a quilt. She finally decided on the hexagon pattern and as I start to lay out the fabrics I feel the need for one more pattern and yet I cant figure out which color or texture it should be. Hmmmmm......

Valentine sweets

I made these Valentine brown sugar blondies for a yummy treat yesterday. I just love the pink, red and white m&m's! My 9" square pan was no where to be found so I improvised with a cake pan. Another successful Pinterest recipe! Hope your Valentine's Day was wonderful!

Hopping along

Came across this cute apron this week, that my grandma let me use when I was a kid, when I had to clean up and make room for our new hot water tank. Not so happy about the unexpected expense or mess it created when it cracked but love that I found this apron again! Red for Valentine's Day and perfect for Easter! Such great memories!

Post Holiday Slow Down

Hey there! I can't believe it is already the 30th of January! Well Happy New Year and all that! I think that I shouldn't wait for a post holiday slow down to blog because it might not come. So I popped in for a quick hello and a share of a Holiday gift project is going to be the start of my 2013 blogging or I might not get a post written for a while yet. Seems the kids are keeping me busier than ever with their activities and I am having as usual a few technical issues with my laptop. I love my Ipad but cant do everything I want to it on it. I will admit some of my technical issues are the fault of the user.  Speaking of technical issues I can't get this post to line up correctly so forgive my wandering margins!

I thought I would show off some stuffed animal sleeping bags that I stitched up for some customer orders and I think they turned out so cute! I purchased the pattern over at the Flossie Teacakes blog and adapted it for my own ease and here are the results. They can be made in three different sizes for small stuffies to larger more like American Doll size favorite dolls, bears and such. I tweaked out the binding and made it inside out for a simpler seam and faster constrution so I could keep the price down. Hope to make some up for the shop soon!

Take care and have a fabulous February!
